Dr. Katie Miller attended East Tennessee State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in pre-med biology. After undergrad, she received a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus; graduating with honors.  In addition to the basic chiropractic program, Dr. Katie took extensive seminars to diversify her knowledge of the human body, nutrition, and chiropractic techniques.  She is certified in the Webster Technique; a specific sacral adjustment to help facilitate a pregnant mother's pelvic alignment and nerve system function.   She completed a 200-hour post graduate pediatric certification program through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Miller was awarded a designation of CACCP, standing for Certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics.  

Dr. Katie’s passion is providing life changing care to the whole family. She strives to be a resource of empowerment for the family unit.  Her goal is to promote positivity and circulate love and good feeling to all she encounters.   Dr. Katie provides a unique approach to holistic health care and utilizes specific cranial and spinal corrections to facilitate a healthy nervous system.  Dr. Katie is one of few chiropractors that utilizes Chiropractic Cranial Technique and Visceral Manipulative Reflex Technique to treat her patients. Her goal is for all people to experience true health absent from disease through addressing the root cause of dysfunction.

Dr. Katie is a huge animal lover and has two Shetland sheepdogs, Gunner and Higgins. She loves to be outdoors, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and camping. She is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan and is happy to be a part of the Northern Pittsburgh community.  Dr. Katie looks forward to helping you and your family.

Dr. Megan Murdock earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeast College of Health Sciences) in Seneca Falls, NY. Prior to attending chiropractic school, Dr. Megan earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California). Dr. Megan maintains her Athletic Training certification in addition to her Chiropractic License.
 
Dr. Megan has a passion for caring for expectant mothers and athletes. She is certified by the ICPA in the Webster Technique, a chiropractic technique designed to optimize pelvic alignment and nervous system function during pregnancy. Her focus is to provide patients with appropriate care and information to enable peak health and function. Whether training for a sport, growing and birthing a child, navigating postpartum, or simply wanting to live day-to-day comfortably, Dr. Megan is here to support you.
 
When not in the office, Dr. Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and French Bulldog, exploring the food and fun that Pittsburgh has to offer!

Dr. Meghan Curiale (Dr. Meg) is a proud local girl and Pine-Richland graduate—Go Rams! She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gannon University before completing her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University just outside Atlanta, GA. Dr. Meg is certified in the Webster Technique through the ICPA and brings over 10 years of chiropractic experience to the practice.

Dr. Meg is deeply passionate about supporting women through preconception, prenatal, and postpartum care. Her focus is to empower patients with individualized care that supports optimal alignment, nervous system function, and overall well-being. Whether preparing the body for pregnancy, navigating the incredible journey of motherhood, or seeking to feel and function better day-to-day, Dr. Meg is honored to be part of each patient’s health story.

Outside the office, Dr. Meg enjoys spending time with her husband Tyler and their daughter Emerson, as well as spending quiet moments working on hand embroidery.

Slade Powell (he/him) has practiced massage since graduating from the Cortiva Institute in Seattle in 2013. He has since become certified in Intraoral Massage for treating TMJD symptoms, CTM for period pain relief, and Master-Level Reiki for emotional wellness. Slade has experience working with people through pregnancy, pre- and post-surgery, and in oncology treatment. His specialties include migraines/headaches, TMJD, hip/low back pain, and emotional grounding. 

Enjoy long, slow, thorough bodywork with a relaxing vibe and therapeutic intention for a whole-body tune-up and energetic cleanse. Slade intentionally creates a safe, open, supportive environment in the treatment room to allow the body to relax and deeply receive the hands-on work. Clients' comfort and safety is the most important part of any session.

Outside of massage, Slade reads voraciously, hangs out with his dog Hartley, and runs a podcast. After 16 years on the West Coast, he's enjoying getting to know the Pittsburgh area again.

Our Practice Manager, Sara (she/they), started out as a patient of Pura Vida and jumped at the opportunity to work with our center.  She has had an interest in holistic health for many years and loves working in our calm and positive environment.  Outside of the practice, she enjoys hiking with her dog, bouldering, and slacklining.
