One of the most impactful changes we can make for optimal wellness is achieving and maintaining a healthy body composition. Excess body fat puts increased strain on our joints, body chemistry, and often our self-esteem. There is so much talk and misinformation about nutrition and fitness online and in the media. Often the message of what is best for you is lost in all the noise!

Our program is perfect for you if:

At Pura Vida Wellness Center, we consider our patient’s physical/mental health history, dietary preferences and lifestyle when creating our individually tailored journey to their ideal body. We believe in guiding our patients through education, whole food nutrition, fitness recommendations and the adoption of intuititive eating in order to slowly change body composition to meet the patients’ goals.

Our plans are not “diets,” they are lifestyle changes that are meant to foster a positive relationship with food and a deeper understanding of nutrition to find and maintain your healthiest, happiest body.

Prior to your first visit, you’ll be asked to fill out a food journal with everything that you put in your mouth. We want to know the times, amounts, and what foods you are currently eating. This food journal must include a minimum of 3 days, and 1 of those days must be a weekend day (that’s right— we look at your “cheat days” too!). It’s important for us to know what your diet currently looks like in order to guide you going forward.

Your initial visit will be spent educating you on the basics around nutrition. We want to arm you with every resource possible so that you can make the best and most informed decisions for your lifestyle. We’ll also begin diving in to healthy food swaps, meal planning, and curating a grocery list. 

We focus on ensuring that you are fueling your body with nourishing, whole foods that will keep you full and provide you with all of the energy you need to get through your day. We help you lose weight by increasing your metabolism instead of decreasing your calories. We work on your relationship with food so you can indulge in everyday life. You should never have guilt for getting a drink with friends or indulging in your favorite treats!
